For many families with children, everyday life is a constant puzzle. It’s practice here, games there, picking up and dropping off all the time. In between, there’s work, personal time, exercise, and cozy evenings at home with your partner. The equation might seem impossible, but we believe the key is balance.
Bring Your Child to Work Day is an initiative to create understanding and balance between family members. We often visit our children’s preschools and schools to see what they do, check out their latest projects, and see the environment they are in. Shouldn’t it be just as natural for them to visit us and see where we spend our days?
We encourage parents to bring their children to work to show them what they actually do during the day. This satisfies the children’s curiosity and gives them understanding while broadening both the children’s and your own perspective. Maybe you’ll realize that some tasks aren’t as important, and maybe you’ll find peace in knowing that the most important thing is waiting for you at home.
Consid’s version of Bring Your Child to Work Day is called Minecraft Day. It’s a day when all employees can bring their kids and their friends’ kids to the office to learn programming and play Minecraft together on a shared server, across Consid’s office locations.
Having employees’ children visit their parents’ workplace while learning more about technology and having fun has proven to be a winning concept. Over 200 children participated in 2022, and interest continues to grow each year.
