Consid Customer Nominated for Award – Mälarenergi Prioritizes Digital Accessibility

Consid’s customer, Mälarenergi in Västerås, has been nominated for the Funka Digital Inclusion Award and is currently one of four finalists. In recent years, Consid has collaborated with Mälarenergi to create more inclusive and accessible services.

Susanna Gärdek, Business Developer Mälarenergi.

Consid’s consultants are part of Mälarenergi’s department “Digital Customer Meeting and CX,” which works on digital services for customers, such as the customer portal, external web, and web applications. The department has set ambitious goals related to digital accessibility to make it possible for everyone to use the digital services that Mälarenergi offers.

The energy company’s focus on accessibility has now gained attention.

– The nomination and being in the top four is, for me, proof that Mälarenergi’s efforts have paid off and that we are doing good things together. It also gives us extra motivation to continue what we are doing: where Mälarenergi’s customer-driven approach is key to creating better services that more people can access, says Frida Engman, resource consultant in UX at Consid.

Susanna Gärdek is a business developer in Digital Customer Meeting and CX at Mälarenergi and works closely with the team from Consid.

– Customer-driven development means that we develop alongside our customers, which ensures digital accessibility and inclusive design. In this work, it has been a pleasure to collaborate with our talented colleagues at Consid, and it’s evident that they, too, have high ambitions in this area, says Susanna Gärdek.

The Funka Digital Inclusion Award is a prize awarded by Funka, a consulting company specializing in accessibility. The award focuses on accessibility and inclusion and aims to highlight companies and organizations that are leading the way in this field.

– About 20% of people have some form of permanent disability, but anyone can encounter obstacles that make it harder to use digital services. For example, we may experience disabilities due to sound, light, or movement in our environment, or due to illness or injury. But with the help of assistive technologies and digital accessibility, we can make it easier to access digital services, despite these challenges. Digital accessibility makes the world more inclusive, makes services easier to use for everyone, and allows us to help more people digitally, says Frida Engman.

She concludes:

– It is inspiring to work with Mälarenergi, who are dedicated and unafraid to try new things. This allows us to constantly learn and move forward. And this is just the beginning of the journey.

The winner will be announced on September 23rd.
