Consid’s Head of Communications Gains Media Attention: ”Focusing on Women in Leadership Roles”
Anna Edstedt has been appointed as the new Head of Communications at the IT giant Consid — a role that has quickly garnered media attention. With several leadership roles behind her and a strong commitment to gender equality issues, she is paving the way for a new generation of leaders in an industry where young women are rarely seen at the top.
On September 1st, 24-year-old Anna Edstedt took over as Head of Communications at the IT company Consid. Since then, she has been highlighted in several Swedish media outlets—primarily due to her young age, which stands out among communications managers at companies of this size.
– It’s of course a bit dizzying, even though I didn’t think about my age when I took this role. Perhaps I’ve also achieved quite a lot compared to many other 24-year-olds. I’m super excited and also think it’s great that Consid dares to invest in young talent. Putting a woman in this position also says a lot about the company culture, she told Jönköpings-Posten.
Anna Edstedt started at Consid two years ago and quickly took on several leadership roles, including Deputy Brand Manager, Partnership Manager, and National Head of the company’s equality initiative, Q by Consid.
– I believe I’m very attentive as a leader and understanding. I think it’s a myth that you can leave your feelings at the door when you go to work. I’m also goal-oriented and work at a fast pace. I want us to make the best of the skills we have and ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to grow. The biggest challenge is that there are only 24 hours in a day, she told Jönköpings-Posten.
In an interview with Resumé, Anna also highlighted the challenge of synchronizing communications and deliveries as the company expands internationally.
– As we are now active in six national markets as well as internationally, there are great opportunities to synchronize our efforts, both in terms of delivery and communication. This will be one of the major projects we’ll focus on this fall.
In Borlänge Tidning, Anna mentioned that there are many younger employees at Consid, especially in the marketing team.
– It’s great that Consid invests in young people. In the IT industry, there’s also a lack of women. It’s exciting that such a large company shows its commitment to promoting women in leadership roles.
Having grown up in Borlänge, she has a special interest in her home region.
– Borlänge and Dalarna have incredible potential. It’s great to see new companies establishing themselves. Borlänge is geographically well-positioned. Dalarna University is also well-liked. We have several people at Consid who studied there, she told Borlänge Tidning.
