International Men’s Day: “Good Boys Don’t Cry”

On International Men’s Day, men’s mental health takes center stage at Consid. Through the lecture “Good Boys Don’t Cry”, Joakim Gyllin aims to break stigmas and highlight an often-overlooked issue. The lecture is part of Consid’s effort to challenge stereotypes, foster dialogue, and create a workplace where mental health is a priority.

Tuesday, November 19, marks International Men’s Day, and at Consid this includes a lecture for employees about men’s mental health. Joakim Gyllin, Enterprise Sales Executive at Consid, will deliver his talk “Good Boys Don’t Cry.”

– International Men’s Day is important for addressing topics we talk far too little about. These are issues that make many people uncomfortable, which is precisely why it’s crucial to discuss them, says Joakim Gyllin.

Joakim will share his personal experiences and shed light on themes like conflict resolution, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, and how societal expectations of men impact their mental well-being. His goal is to break stigmas and provide tools to better understand and manage mental health challenges.

– It’s easy to remain stuck in behaviors that don’t align with how we truly function. For companies, it’s especially important to foster conversations and create the right conditions for mental health.

Established in 1999, International Men’s Day aims to raise awareness about men’s mental health, highlight their challenges, and promote a more inclusive dialogue on equality and well-being.

– International Men’s Day is an important occasion because it highlights issues that affect men in various ways, such as mental health and societal norms around masculinity. For us at Consid, it’s an opportunity to continue discussing how we can contribute to an inclusive workplace and challenge stereotypes that impact everyone, regardless of gender. Men are overrepresented in suicide statistics, often because they feel they have no one to talk to. That’s why we must do exactly that—talk about it, says Filippa Ahlcrona, Head of Q by Consid.

The lecture “Good Boys Don’t Cry” is part of Consid’s equality initiative and ongoing work to address important societal issues while creating a workplace where mental health is prioritized.
