– I’m really excited to speak at Testforum. It’s always great to share your thoughts and ideas, and I also learn a lot from the process—especially when there are plenty of questions. It’s also extra exciting to present when you know you have a large audience, says Johan Klintin, Test Lead and Business Area Manager for Test & Quality Management at Consid.

Testforum 2024 offers attendees the opportunity to hear presentations covering the full spectrum of testing, from test automation and generative AI for GUI testing to strategic topics like process changes and test security. The conference is one of Sweden’s largest meeting points for testers, developers, IT architects, and other professionals in the IT industry, serving as a forum for knowledge sharing and networking.

Johan Klintin, Test Lead and Business Area Manager for Test & Quality Management at Consid, will be one of the keynote speakers. In his talk, Johan will focus on how adopting a broader, enterprise-wide perspective can help shift focus from individual teams to the greater good of the entire company. By taking a step back and thinking on a larger scale, he believes companies can ensure that all decisions and processes benefit the organization as a whole, rather than just individual teams. This, in turn, leads to better collaboration and more efficient use of resources.

– You need to see the ‘bigger picture’ and understand how functionality is interconnected, making sure that the goals and activities of individual teams are aligned with the company’s overall objectives. That way, we can all contribute to a better result for the entire organization, says Johan.

Another important topic Johan will address is how companies can ensure satisfied customers while minimizing “waste” by always keeping the customer’s needs in focus and ensuring the overall efficiency of the process. By prioritizing the bigger picture, unnecessary work can be avoided, and focus can be placed on what truly adds value to the customer. In this context, he will also highlight the unique role of testers.

– Testers have a unique opportunity to gather information about the customer’s preferences and how effective the solutions really are. Testers have direct contact with the product and can often see both strengths and weaknesses in the systems from the customer’s perspective, making them invaluable sources of information.

In addition to his work with clients, Johan also leads the Center of Excellence: Test & Quality at Consid. The core idea behind the Center of Excellence (CoE) is to bring together engaged individuals with similar expertise and interests into an inclusive, mission- and office-spanning community within Consid. The goal is to share knowledge, trends, and success factors to build on and develop further within the company.

– Consid’s CoEs are a great way to improve communication and collaboration across the entire company. The Test & Quality CoE now has over 100 members from many of Consid’s offices, all united by a passion for improving quality. We meet regularly to share knowledge and learn from one another.

The Testforum conference will take place on October 15-16 in Stockholm.
