Linda Hörnfeldt’s interest in photography and media started at a young age. Over the years, she has transitioned from working in a high school darkroom to becoming a blog pioneer and entrepreneur. While her role today looks very different from 20 years ago, her passion for media remains as strong as ever.

– I still love creating content—writing, editing, and filming. Everything I started doing and enjoyed 20 years ago is still some of the most fun work I do, she says in Digitala Influencer-podden.

However, Linda has also discovered new interests and sources of fulfillment that drive her in her daily work.

– The best part of my job today is the connection with entrepreneurs. The absolute best moments are when you see the light bulb go on for them, and they realize they can truly pursue their goals.

Authenticity in the Influencer Industry

Through training and coaching, Linda now teaches other entrepreneurs to leverage their most powerful resource—themselves.

– It’s you. The fact that you stand in front of the camera and build a relationship with your audience has a far greater impact than polished video productions or sleek graphics. Just talk to them; build a relationship with your people.

Becoming an influencer is a dream for many young people today. However, Linda argues that the desire often stems from a wish to be famous.

– It’s not so much about wanting to be an influencer because they don’t really understand what it entails. It’s about wanting to be famous, and that’s because our society has always idolized fame.

To succeed in gaining recognition, Linda believes one must look inward, be genuine, and develop a clear strategy.

– What are my values? Who do I want to be? What legacy do I want to leave? What do I want to inspire others to do? How can I make the world a little better? What do I want to be known for in the end? I think many people need to spend time on introspection to answer these questions.

She continues:

– I think people are generally much more aware now that everyone has a personal brand. If you’re online today, you have a personal brand, whether you actively manage it or not. And the thing is, it’s not you who determines what your personal brand is—it’s the audience. The people who see you online will form their own impression of who you are.

Throughout her years as an influencer, entrepreneur, and creator, Linda has had a significant impact on the industry and Sweden’s digital landscape. She has not left her influencer life behind. Through her training programs and coaching, she has helped countless creators and entrepreneurs believe in themselves and succeed in their fields.

Linda Hörnfeldt’s nomination for Digital Rising Star of the Year reads: Linda Hörnfeldt is a pioneer in influencer marketing and digital entrepreneurship in Sweden. With over two decades in the blogging world, she has created opportunities for thousands of creators and founded Influencers of Sweden, the country’s first trade organization for social media professionals. Through her book Yrke: Influencer and the course Social Brand Lab, Linda has equipped solopreneurs with tools to succeed online and build strong personal brands. Her dedication to digital entrepreneurship and secure working conditions for creators makes her a natural candidate for Digital Rising Star of the Year 2024.
