Meeting Place for Students in IT – Event Attracts Media Attention
Last week, Consid invited to an event for IT students in Värmland. With great attendance, the event was a successful moment for the students.
A large number of students gathered for the breakfast event at the Karlstad office. The event was then described in Karlstad University’s student newspaper.
“Several IT and programming students from Karlstad and the surrounding area participated in the event. During the two hours, breakfast and mingling with several of Consid’s employed IT consultants in different areas were offered.” writes the newspaper.
One of the speakers at the event was Consid’s own UX lead and consulting manager Adam Janäng Smideborn. The goal of the event was to give students an insight into the consulting job, the opportunity to make contacts in the IT world, and for Consid to share expertise in the field.
“The lecture’s focus was on why UX is important, what a UXer does during a working day and how to do an impact mapping in the best way.”
The event was planned by Kajsa Lind, HR and recruitment at Consid in Karlstad, together with the Karlstad office’s student ambassador Isac Gunnarsson, who studies IT design at Karlstad University. He is one of the first student ambassadors hired by the IT company and acts as an intermediary between Consid and the IT students.
“It’s great to be able to organize an event for the students here in Karlstad and Värmland. It feels important to share the expertise that our consultants possess and give the students an opportunity to make contacts in the IT world,” says Kajsa to the newspaper.
The IT company has on several occasions organized events in different cities in Sweden, and once before in Karlstad. This is an effective way for students to meet working life and get an insight into everyday operations.
“We are very happy that so many students came and that the event was successful” Kajsa tells the newspaper.
