Swedish Companies Gathered in Berlin – Focus on EU’s Economic Resilience

On Tuesday, Consid participated in a roundtable discussion at the Swedish Embassy in Berlin, alongside representatives from, among others, Vattenfall and SEB. The meeting, initiated by Sweden’s Minister for Finance, Elisabeth Svantesson, focused on ways to strengthen the EU’s competitiveness.

Representatives from several major Swedish companies convened at the Swedish Embassy in Berlin to discuss how the EU’s competitiveness and economic resilience can be reinforced. Among the invited participants were Patrik Hall from Consid GmbH, Robert Zurawski from Vattenfall, and Jürgen Baudisch from SEB.

The meeting was held in connection with Minister Svantesson’s visit to Berlin, where she met with her German counterpart, Lars Klingbeil. During the visit, the Swedish Minister expressed a desire to hear the perspectives of Swedish companies on the current economic situation in Germany, and how conditions could be improved to deepen collaboration between the two countries.

– It was a very rewarding meeting, where we had the opportunity to share our view of the German market, future opportunities, and the challenges we face in our day-to-day operations. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of digitalisation for Europe’s competitiveness. We were able to contribute with concrete examples of Sweden’s progress in this area and how Germany could benefit from those experiences, said Patrik Hall, CEO of Consid in Germany.

In addition to digitalisation, the discussion also covered topics such as defence investments, the European Capital Markets Union, and the Swedish model for managing pension savings. The dialogue clearly showed that, although Sweden and Germany differ in certain economic-policy traditions, there are many areas of common interest—especially in terms of fiscal policy at the European level.

– This kind of dialogue is crucial, particularly in times of change. Being able to contribute to discussions at the political level, where the insights of the business community are taken into account, strengthens our shared ability to drive sustainable development and innovation in Europe, said Patrik Hall.

Consid has been established in the German market for several years, with a growing team and multiple engagements within digital transformation and sustainable development.
