Anders Röding – 20 years at Consid

It’s a chilly but clear September morning in Jönköping. We’re here to meet Anders Röding, one of Consid’s most loyal and versatile employees. It’s been 20 years since he walked through the doors of the then relatively unknown tech company. Today, he is a respected solution architect, developer, and technical visionary, with a constant twinkle in his eye. Anders has been with Consid since its early days and throughout the company’s explosive growth. But what has made him stay for so long?

A Journey Back in Time

We meet Anders at a café a bit away from Munksjön in Jönköping. The sun shines through the large windows, casting patterns on the polished concrete floor. A steaming cup of coffee sits in front of him as he begins to tell the story of how his time at Consid started.

– I had just finished a season up in Abisko, where I worked at a tourist station after graduating from Chalmers. It was my friend Anna Waskiewicz who reached out and asked if I wanted to join Consid, where her husband was one of the founders, he recalls.

The mountains of Abisko were quickly swapped for Consid’s early office environments—far from the tech empire the company is today. Anders describes how he never expected that this first job would turn into a 20-year journey filled with challenges, growth, and, most importantly, unforgettable memories.

From Small Startup to Tech Giant

When Anders started at Consid in 2004, it was a company in its infancy—a young and ambitious business with just a few employees and huge potential. Those early days were filled with creative challenges and exciting projects that required quick solutions.

– We were a young team, and we worked hard, but we always had fun along the way, Anders says.

As he talks about his time at Consid, a certain pride shines through, especially when he mentions one of his first major projects – Sverigeflyg.

– It was incredibly exciting! We were tasked with building a booking system for seven airlines. We were a young team but had a fantastic senior project manager who showed us the way. It was a project that made an early mark in my career, and even today, I still feel that pride in what we accomplished.

Anders Today – A Multitalented Professional with a Passion for Technical Challenges

Over the years, Anders has taken on multiple roles within Consid. From developer to technical architect and solution architect, he has become an invaluable team member over two decades.

– Today, I mostly work on the back end of web applications, and Microsoft technology is my specialty, he explains, leaning back.

Managing large technical projects is no small feat, and it’s something Anders embraces wholeheartedly. Currently, he’s working on an ambitious project for a client, where he and his team are moving a large on-prem system to the cloud.

– It’s been a real roller coaster. The system we built was originally intended for a thousand users in the Nordics. Today, it needs to work for many more people around the world, Anders says.

He continues:

– It’s projects like these, where we get to challenge ourselves and truly solve problems for our clients, that make all the hard work worthwhile.

Colleagues and Community – The Key to Success

When we talk about what has kept Anders at Consid for so long, he lingers on an important point: his colleagues.

– The most important key to success is having good people around you. Alone, you’re rarely strong. Being able to bounce ideas off someone who can challenge and develop your thinking is crucial to achieving good results.

It’s precisely this sense of community, this constant collaboration between colleagues, that Anders believes has been one of the biggest reasons he has enjoyed his time here for so many years.

Though Anders is a determined and ambitious professional, it’s not just the work that has given him memorable experiences. With a laugh, he recalls the annual conference trips to Sälen.

– Do I even need to say that I’m a bit obsessed with skiing, even if my level has dropped over the years? Those trips have always been highlights, he says.

The Future – What Lies Ahead?

With 20 years at a company that has changed and grown tremendously, what’s next for Anders Röding?

– Consid is no longer the small startup it was when I began, but the drive to develop, grow, and tackle new challenges is still here. That’s what makes me still look forward to each new day at work.

As we leave the café, the clouds have cleared, and a bright blue sky stretches over Gothenburg. Anders Röding—a technical multitasker with tireless drive—continues his journey at Consid. And who knows, maybe we’ll meet him again in another 20 years, still just as passionate about his work, still on the hunt for the next technical challenge.
