Lucas Ljungquist is a curious and driven person with a background in both retail and IT. He describes himself as a somewhat restless sports nerd with a passion for cooking and technology news. In his role as Sales Manager at Consid, he is responsible for driving and developing the company's Microsoft business - a role where his strategic thinking, business acumen and relationship building skills really come into their own. Join us as we catch up with Lucas to hear him talk about his role and what drives him.

From retail to IT – a journey of development and success

We meet up with Lucas Ljungquist at Consid’s Stockholm office, where the company is housed in two magnificent showpieces overlooking the famous Stureplan. On the second floor, we enter a room where a large pool table and leopard print walls give a sense of relaxed exclusivity. We settle into one of the trendy velvet sofas in the meeting rooms and start our conversation with Lucas.

Lucas started his career in retail, where he quickly developed an ability to build trust and manage customer relationships. But it wasn’t long before he felt a yearning for a new challenge. Almost 12 years ago, he took the plunge into IT and sales.

– I was young, naive and extremely hungry to learn. It was an intense and fast-paced journey, where I got to work with everything from the Microsoft business to hosting services and IT security. Understanding both the customer’s needs and the technical solution became a key to success, says Lucas.

With several ‘Salesperson of the Year’ awards under his belt, his drive and dedication have produced outstanding results. But what means the most to him is having been involved in developing others.

– Watching great salespeople and technicians grow in their roles and take the next step in their careers is the most rewarding thing I do.

Building from scratch

When Lucas got the opportunity to join Consid, it was a challenge he couldn’t turn down.

– What attracted me to Consid was the opportunity to establish a new area with a big impact on an already successful company. I love the idea of building something from scratch and creating a ‘company within a company’, he says enthusiastically.

Lucas describes his time at Consid so far as fantastic – a place where he has the freedom to do what it takes to create the best conditions for business and customer value. He also highlights the company’s culture as a strong driving force.

– There’s a unique combination of hunger and humility, and colleagues who are really passionate about what they do.

A strategic partnership with Microsoft

Today, Lucas is a key player at Consid where his role includes everything from strategic partnerships to shaping offers and driving sales forward.

– We are proud to be one of Microsoft’s three preferred AI partners and one of their focus customers. This means that we have a close dialog with them and are supported in driving business together.

The partnership means new areas of work for Consid. Lucas is tasked with coordinating the operational work linked to the technical work to develop our customers in the best way using Microsoft’s services.

– This gives us the opportunity to work more closely with Microsoft’s platforms and take advantage of their resources, which affects both internal processes and customer projects.

Keys to success – relationships and clear goals

When it comes to building strong customer relationships and teams, Lucas is convinced that common goals and a clear roadmap are crucial.

– It’s about creating ownership together. When everyone is pulling in the same direction, it’s easier to stay motivated and deliver great results.

His top three keys to success? Commitment, creativity and clear goals.

– I always try to keep things simple and focus on the customer’s business problems. With the help of our awesome colleagues, we can then come up with the best technical solutions.

To recharge and re-energize, Lucas likes to go skiing at his house in Vemdalen.

– There’s nothing better than feeling the speed on the slopes and enjoying the mountain air.

With his drive, his ability to build relationships and his strategic eye for business, Lucas Ljungquist continues to be an important part of Consid’s growth journey – and it shows that he loves what he does.
