The goal of mentorship – learning from each other and sharing experiences
Robin Lindgren is a Fullstack Developer at Consid with a focus on the frontend – and expertise in Angular, React, C#/.NET, and Azure. During the fall, Robin has served as a mentor within Q Mentoria, with a desire to have the opportunity to share solutions to problems while learning about new challenges faced by his mentee.
– My experience as a mentor has exceeded my expectations. My mentee, Elisabeth Fåk Lloyd, has recently started her vocational college, so much of what she works on is familiar to me. However, she encountered a problem with deleting a folder from GitHub while keeping it locally. By helping her with this, I not only learned how to do it but also discovered a new method to delete the folder both locally and on GitHub with fewer commands than before. A pleasant streamlining, says Robin Lindgren.
”Recommend all women and non-binary individuals interested in the tech industry to become part of Q Mentoria”
Elisabeth Fåk Lloyd, studying to become a system developer, applied to the mentorship program to get an idea of what she can work on after completing her education, explore different specializations, and connect with both new and experienced system developers.
– Robin has supported and explained programming issues that have arisen. At the same time, he has invited me to social gatherings with other developers. Robin and everyone I’ve met at Consid have been incredibly welcoming and inclusive. They have a very strong sense of community, and besides being rewarding to have a mentor, it has also been a lot of fun!, says Elisabeth Fåk Lloyd.
Elisabeth shares that her perception of working in the IT and tech industry has changed since becoming part of Q Mentoria.
– I recommend all women and non-binary individuals interested in learning more about the tech industry to become part of Q Mentoria. Having a mentor whom you can ask anything, from what a day at work looks like to how to solve specific problems, has been invaluable. Additionally, being invited to the “Q Meets” that Consid organizes has been a good and inspiring opportunity to talk to other women in the industry, says Elisabeth Fåk Lloyd.
