Web developer

Joel Melin, webbutvecklare i Kalmar, spelar gitarr i en trappuppgång.
Joel Melin excels in balancing his work and personal life. Through his great passion for music, he has discovered several similarities with his work in web development. At Consid, he experiences appreciation and support for both his interests and work. Most recently, a release party was organized at the office for Joel's latest single.

“The appreciation from all the fantastic colleagues was immensely heartwarming.”

Joel Melin is one of our experienced web developers working at the Kalmar office. Two years ago, Joel was enticed to be part of shaping Consid’s new meeting place in the city. Nowadays, Joel’s workdays are filled with intense coding and exciting meetings.

– The best part of my days is definitely the colleagues and the positive atmosphere and camaraderie in the office, Joel explains.

The office always has various enjoyable activities, and recently, a release party was organized for Joel and his band’s newly released single.

– It turned out to be an incredibly fun evening, where the support, interest, and appreciation from all the fantastic colleagues were immensely heartwarming. It’s a memory I will cherish for a long time.

Similarities between a web developer and a musician

Joel has had an interest in music for as long as he can remember, and the band One For The Many has become a natural continuation. The band consists of Joel and his bandmate Kevin, who lives in Sundsvall.

– Fortunately, we both have home studios and good knowledge of music production, so we can record our own parts and send files to each other to then mix the songs together.

Joel sees several similarities between his roles as a web developer and a musician: creativity, the importance of both seeing the big picture and paying attention to details, in symbiosis with a desire to create. Furthermore, his background in IT has influenced the way he creates music.

– We constantly seek the thrill of creating something we’re proud of, whether it’s a solution to a problem, a website, or a great song. Through my professional life, I have also learned the importance of iteration (repeating and improving). It’s incredibly crucial for developing a website, just as it is for creating a well-produced song.
